Upcoming Creative Writing Class: “The Art of Creative Writing”

Hey all –
Thanks in no small part to the Ottawa Herald (thank you so much!), we’ll be able to continue Creative Writing Classes through The Uncarved Writers’ Workshop.  The current class has been a huge success thus far, and I’m so thankful for the wonderful individuals involved.  We have a great group!
That being said, I’d like to officially announce the next 4/week class at the Ottawa Herald: “The Art of Creative Writing.”  This class will again be $25 for the full 4 weeks, and will be held Tuesdays August 6th – 27th.  Just as before, there will be a Scholarship Program in place for those who would like to take this class but cannot financially afford it.  If you’d like to sign-up for this class and are interested in a scholarship (or have more questions about how it works) just let me know.  The scholarships are awarded on a first come, first serve basis, so let me know ASAP.
If, on the other hand, you’d like to help by donating a scholarship, that would be fantastic!  My goal is to make these classes available to all who want to participate, regardless of financial situation.  So if you’d like to sponsor a scholarship, you’ll have the option of having the total cost dropped by $10 (making the total for you and the individual you sponsor $40 for the 4 week class), or you can receive a free 4 week class at a future point.  Either way, it’s a great deal, and will help out someone else tremendously.  Also, if you aren’t interested in taking classes but would like to sponsor a student (or students) that would be amazing, as well.  This is a great way for individuals, organizations, churches, and community outreaches to impact lives in a positive way.  We’ve already had individuals participate as both recipients and donors, and it’s been a wonderful experience for all!
Just a quick reminder: As mentioned before, I am matching these scholarships and donations on a first come first serve basis.  There are multiple reasons for that, and one being confidentiality.  So if you’d like to sponsor or receive a scholarship, please contact me.  And again, these are based on a matching system, so just because you request a scholarship, doesn’t necessarily guarantee you a spot in the class.  Again, just as a reminder.
I also want to let you know that we have room for 15 students in this class.  So if you are interested, be sure to sign up!
I’m very excited to continue bringing this and other Creative Writing opportunities to the Ottawa/Franklin County Community.  Thank you to those involved, and I hope to hear from you all very soon!
Happy Writing!
Dave
